Shannon Connelly;
Researcher and Writer
Ms. Connelly has been actively involved in nonprofit research and
development since 2001. With specific knowledge of the arts, community
building, and public space management, she offers a breadth of experience in
prospect research, database management, grant writing, and communications.
Currently, Connelly is a Senior Writer in the development office of Columbia
University Medical Center. Working with a team of researcher/writers, she
designs effective strategies, proposals, and cultivation plans for
leadership prospects of CUMC’s $1-billion capital campaign.
Previously, Connelly worked for over two years as a Development Assistant
for Prospect Research at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she
researched and tracked new prospects for the Met’s $900-million capital
campaign. In addition to providing research support for new women’s and
multicultural initiatives, Connelly also contributed periodic articles to
the Museum’s campaign newsletter, Metropolitan.
Connelly, a cum laude graduate of New York University, has lived in the city
since 1998. Since moving to New York, she has written freelance pieces for a
variety of for- and non-profit publications—including Partnerships for Parks
brochures and case studies and the 2001 Frommer’s travel guide Hanging
Out in France. |
