Brooke Horowitz; Researcher and Writer

Ms. Horowitz worked as a TV news producer and assignment editor before entering the nonprofit arena.  A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, she uses her reporting, writing and communication skills to find donors for nonprofits.

Horowitz is currently a Development Assistant for Prospect Research at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  She researches individuals, foundations and corporations for the Museum’s $900 million capital campaign and special exhibitions.

Prior to joining the Metropolitan Museum, Horowitz worked as an assignment editor at NBC News, where she did initial reporting on breaking news and helped coordinate the network’s news coverage.  She began her career working overnights at KSAT, the ABC-affiliate in San Antonio, Texas.  As morning show producer, Horowitz was responsible for all aspects of an hour-long program.  She determined show content, wrote stories for air, and managed the broadcast from the control room.

Horowitz also enjoys food writing and has been published in Time Out New York and Shecky’s Bar, Club & Lounge Guide.
