Linda C. Hartley, Founder and PresidentMs. Hartley's experience encompasses her work
at major New York institutions of higher
education, the arts, public advocacy and social
services, as well as related international
projects. She has expertise in overall
management and assessment, volunteer and staff
training, strategic planning, board development,
capital campaigns, and major gifts and planned
giving, as well as in communications, alumni
relations, and annual giving.
Prior to establishing Hartley Consulting,
Linda C. Hartley was Vice President for External
Affairs at The Cooper Union for the Advancement
of Science and Art. She was responsible for
raising $7-8 million annually, recruiting and
restructuring a staff of 30 and developing plans
for a $200 million capital campaign. As
Associate Vice President of Bard College, she
was responsible, with the Vice President, for
implementing a $134 million capital campaign.
She reconstituted the college's planned giving
program, built an advisory board and development
operation for the Bard Graduate Center and
increased its annual giving from $375,000 to
$1.2 million in the first 20 months. Previously,
she led development, campaign and major/planned
gift efforts at Columbia University, New School
University and The New York Public Library.
Hartley arrived in New York in 1977 and
co-founded The Cutting Edge Theatre. In 1980 she
joined the development office at New York
University, where she also earned an MBA at the
Stern School of Business.
She serves as a member of the board of
directors for the Association of Fundraising
Professionals, New York Woman's Agenda, and The
Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising at New
York University, where she is also a member of
the adjunct faculty. She is a former president
and honorary director of Women in Development,
New York and a former board member of NARAL New
York. |
